The Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition is an open-source, privacy-focused voice assistant that seamlessly integrates with Home Assistant. Easily control your smart home with your voice, locally or securely via the cloud. The Home Assistant system supports numerous integrations, making the Nabu Casa Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition compatible with most smart home devices through the central hub. It also integrates with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon systems.
Smart features
- Fast response times and deep integration with the Home Assistant system.
- Status indicator: A built-in LED ring shows when the device is waiting for a voice command, processing a command, or when the microphone is muted.
- Full Mute: A physical switch on the side of the device allows users to disable the microphone completely.
- History and event logging: Home Assistant keeps a detailed log of events, including voice commands. All data is stored locally.
- Automation and scene control via voice command: Home Assistant allows you to create complex automations and scenes that can be activated using voice commands.
- Full Local Control: The Nabu Casa Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition can work fully locally for voice command processing, depending on the Home Assistant system setting.
- Home Assistant "Plug & Play": While setting up the device is simple for experienced Home Assistant users, it's not a typical plug & play solution. Some technical knowledge is required, and installation may involve additional services depending on the selected command processing method. It is specifically recommended for users familiar with and experienced with the Home Assistant platform.
- Power: Powered via USB-C. The package does not include a power adapter or cable.
- Wi-Fi protocol: The device connects to the network via Wi-Fi and communicates locally with the Home Assistant hub, ensuring fast and secure operation.
- 3.5mm jack output: The device has a 3.5mm jack output for connection to an audio system.
